Afghan National Killed in Balochistan Linked to Terrorism

An Afghan national linked to terrorist activities in Pakistan was killed on January 11 in the Sambaza area of Zhob district, Balochistan, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media division identified the deceased as Muhammad Khan Ahmedkhel, son of Haji Qasim Dawran Khan, hailing from Village Bilorai in the Wazekhwa district of Paktika Province, Afghanistan.

Following the completion of required legal procedures, the body was handed over to Afghan authorities. The Pakistani government has called on Afghanistan to take effective measures to prevent the use of its territory for carrying out terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

The ISPR highlighted that this incident serves as concrete evidence of Afghan nationals’ involvement in acts of terrorism within Pakistan, stressing the importance of mutual cooperation to address cross-border security challenges.

This development comes amid heightened tensions between the two neighboring countries over border security issues. Pakistan has repeatedly accused elements within Afghanistan of harboring and facilitating terrorists who carry out attacks on Pakistani soil. In response, Islamabad has urged Kabul to strengthen its control over areas near the border to curb such activities.

The killing of Muhammad Khan Ahmedkhel underscores the ongoing threat posed by cross-border terrorism and the need for coordinated efforts to dismantle terror networks operating in the region. Security experts emphasize that sustained dialogue and effective border management are essential for fostering regional stability and preventing future incidents.
