Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC), Swabi, has inaugurated a cutting-edge online examination center to facilitate MBBS professional exams for Khyber Medical University (KMU), aligning with contemporary educational advancements.
The state-of-the-art facility was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq, Vice Chancellor of KMU. Following KMU’s initiative to transition MBBS exams to an online format, GKMC successfully developed this center, which is fully equipped with modern technology and can accommodate more than 80 students simultaneously, as per a college representative.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key officials, including KMU’s Vice Chancellor, the Controller of Examinations, GKMC’s Dean & CEO Prof. Dr. Shams-ur-Rehman, and senior faculty members.
While addressing the gathering, VC Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haq emphasized that shifting to an online examination system would enhance efficiency, reduce time consumption, and contribute to a paperless environment. He also lauded GKMC’s efforts in implementing this progressive system and commended the faculty, administration, and examination center team for their dedication.
Additionally, he highlighted that the newly established examination center would function as a regional hub for KMU in Swabi, enabling other affiliated colleges to conduct online exams at the facility.
Prof. Dr. Shams-ur-Rehman, Dean of GKMC, reiterated the importance of adopting modern examination methodologies, stating that this initiative is a significant milestone for the institution. He elaborated that the center is furnished with more than 80 computer systems, high-speed internet, a digital library, and advanced research tools, creating an enhanced academic environment for students.
To ensure the system’s functionality, a mock examination was conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The spokesperson also confirmed that the upcoming MBBS professional examination, scheduled for February 2025, will be held at this newly established digital facility.
