Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Agree to Convene Urgent OIC Meeting on Gaza Crisis

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have jointly agreed to urgently convene an Extraordinary Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the ongoing developments in Gaza. This decision was made during a phone conversation between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on the current crisis.

Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the Israeli Prime Minister’s provocative and reckless remarks, asserting that Pakistan stands firmly with the Palestinian people and their struggle. He emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while also reinforcing the country’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.

In his response, the Saudi Foreign Minister thanked Pakistan for its consistent and enduring support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty. He acknowledged the long-standing, close ties between the two nations, especially in times of regional and global challenges, and reaffirmed the importance of their mutual cooperation in addressing international issues, including the plight of Palestine.

The meeting underscores the growing urgency for collective action within the OIC to address the crisis in Gaza and to reaffirm the shared commitment of Muslim nations to uphold the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
