Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has reaffirmed his commitment to taking decisive action against individuals inciting sectarian violence, ensuring they face legal repercussions. He emphasized that his administration will not tolerate any attempts to destabilize the province through sectarian conflict.
Speaking at an official event, Gandapur shed light on the longstanding unrest in the Kurram region, which he stated has been ongoing for 130 years. He highlighted that both internal factions and external elements have continuously fueled tensions, preventing long-term peace. Contrary to common belief, he clarified that the issue is not a mere land dispute but a deep-rooted sectarian conflict, with foreign entities deliberately investing resources to escalate instability across Pakistan.
To strengthen law and order, the provincial government has allocated Rs. 2 billion to enhance security infrastructure, including the installation of advanced surveillance cameras and the reinforcement of border security measures. These steps, he asserted, are aimed at preventing cross-border interference and ensuring the safety of citizens. Furthermore, Gandapur announced a bounty system to accelerate the arrest of wanted terrorists, signaling his administration’s firm stance against militancy.
Condemning a recent attack on a convoy, the chief minister underscored the importance of human life and societal harmony. He reiterated that peace and security remain top priorities for his government, assuring the public that all those responsible for sectarian violence will be brought to justice. He concluded by stressing his unwavering resolve to eliminate the root causes of sectarian strife and restore lasting stability in the region.
