Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has strongly criticized Hassan Niazi’s conduct on May 9, describing his actions as part of a troubling pattern of behavior. She stated that Niazi’s offense extended beyond the act of displaying a soldier’s uniform, suggesting it reflected deeper issues. In a media statement, Bokhari highlighted a video in which Niazi was seen holding a military officer’s uniform, calling the act highly disrespectful. She attributed Niazi’s actions to the influence of his uncle, whom she accused of consistently promoting violence, terrorism, and disorder.
“Hassan Niazi’s current situation is the result of his decision to follow in his uncle’s footsteps,” Bokhari asserted. She also mentioned Hafeezullah Niazi, Hassan’s father, expressing sympathy for the challenges he might be facing. However, she dismissed Hafeezullah’s criticism of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as baseless and unfounded. “Rather than attacking the leadership, Hafeezullah Niazi should introspect on his own family’s actions. Hassan Niazi’s behavior is a direct reflection of the ideology propagated by his uncle,” she added.
Bokhari stressed that Hassan Niazi’s actions represented a broader pattern of defiance and disregard for national values and institutions. “This issue goes far beyond the act of holding a military uniform. His entire history raises serious questions,” she remarked.
On social media, Bokhari shared video evidence of Niazi’s controversial behavior, urging the public to evaluate the footage and hold him accountable. “For those who haven’t seen these videos, I am sharing them to remind everyone of the facts,” she wrote, emphasizing the importance of upholding the country’s integrity.
Concluding her remarks, Bokhari reaffirmed her dedication to safeguarding Pakistan’s institutions and ensuring accountability for all, regardless of their status or affiliations.
