Commissioner Multan Division Oversees Anti-Encroachment Operation, Emphasizes Urban Upgradation

In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision, strict oversight of the ongoing anti-encroachment operation continues across Multan Division. Commissioner Multan Division, Aamir Karim Khan, expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the Khanewal district administration in reclaiming public spaces. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Salma Suleman, he visited Akbar Bazaar and Chowk Sanglanwala to assess the post-operation conditions.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Khalid Abbas Siyal, Administrator Municipal Committee Ghulam Mustafa Khan, and Assistant Commissioner Sumbal Javed were also present during the inspection. The commissioner interacted with traders and residents to gauge public sentiment regarding the operation. Citizens and business owners conveyed their approval and assured full cooperation with the administration’s efforts to restore order.

During the visit, the commissioner underscored the importance of upgrading key intersections to enhance the city’s aesthetics. He directed officials to improve green belts and dividers, install better lighting, and ensure cleanliness in public spaces. He emphasized that the crackdown on illegal encroachments—both temporary and permanent—would persist until the issue is entirely eradicated, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to maintaining a well-organized urban environment.

Earlier, Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan also inspected the Rehri Bazaar at Ayub Chowk, where he examined the quality and pricing of fruits and vegetables. He personally engaged with shoppers to gather feedback on the availability and affordability of essential commodities, ensuring that fair pricing measures were being upheld.
