A Karachi-to-Swat passenger bus met with a tragic accident near Neela Dullah on the M-2 Motorway, veering off the road and plunging into a ravine. The crash resulted in eight fatalities and left several others injured.
Emergency responders reported that five passengers lost their lives on the spot, while 18 others sustained injuries of varying severity. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, three more victims succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, bringing the total death toll to eight. The injured were promptly taken to HHQ Hospital Chakwal for treatment.
Authorities arrived at the scene to secure the area and prevent further hazards. Recovery operations were conducted using heavy machinery, including cranes, to extract the wreckage of the bus.
Preliminary assessments indicate that driver negligence might have contributed to the accident, though a full investigation is underway. The bus was carrying 43 passengers at the time of the crash.
