Imam-ul-Haq has been selected to replace Fakhar Zaman in Pakistan’s squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The 27-year-old left-handed batsman, who has accumulated 3,138 runs in 72 ODIs with an impressive average of 48.3, is set to depart for Dubai on the earliest available flight.
Fakhar Zaman has been sidelined from the tournament due to an oblique tear sustained while fielding against New Zealand in Karachi. His injury means he will be absent from Pakistan’s much-anticipated showdown against India in Dubai on Sunday.
Zaman was instrumental in Pakistan’s historic 2017 Champions Trophy victory, delivering a match-winning century in the final against India.
Pakistan had already faced a setback with Saim Ayub’s injury, as he was ruled out of the squad after twisting his ankle during the Test series in South Africa.
Pakistan Squad:
Mohammad Rizwan (captain), Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi.
