Lahore Qalandars has launched an exciting Kit Design Competition, offering fans and designers the chance to create the team’s official jersey for the upcoming season. This initiative aims to foster creativity, highlight new talent, and strengthen the connection between the franchise and its supporters.
The contest is open to everyone, from students and artists to sports enthusiasts, with no restrictions on who can participate. The team especially encourages students from Lahore’s fashion institutes to participate, providing a platform for emerging talent. Designs must be 100% original and feature the official team colors and logo, which are accessible via a shared drive.
The competition will be overseen by renowned Pakistani-French fashion designer Mehmood Bhatti, who will mentor participants and lead the judging process. As the head of the jury, he will assess submissions based on creativity, originality, and suitability for a professional sports team.
A selection of the best designs will be shortlisted for a public vote, allowing fans to have a say in choosing the final kit. The winning designer will receive:
- Mentorship from Mehmood Bhatti
- A special prize
- A VIP experience in the owners’ dugout during a PSL match
To participate, entrants must submit their designs via email at contact@lahoreqalandars.com, along with a brief explanation of their inspiration. Additionally, they are encouraged to share their work on social media, tagging Lahore Qalandars and using the hashtag #LQKitDesignContest. The deadline for submissions is March 25, 2025, by 4:00 PM (PST).
To further engage aspiring designers, Lahore Qalandars’ star players will visit fashion schools in Lahore to discuss the essentials of sportswear design and what makes a great team kit.
Atif Rana, CEO of Lahore Qalandars, emphasized the team’s commitment to innovation and fan engagement:
“We want our fans to feel truly connected to the Lahore Qalandars family. This competition is a fantastic opportunity for young talent to make their mark and be part of our journey.”
Mehmood Bhatti, the competition’s head judge, expressed his excitement about mentoring new designers:
“It’s a privilege to guide the next generation of creative minds. Sportswear design is a fusion of fashion and function, and I look forward to seeing the fresh ideas participants bring forward.”
