National Assembly Condemns Jaffar Express Hijacking and Reaffirms Commitment to Combating Terrorism

The National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution today (Thursday) strongly condemning the hijacking of the Jaffar Express and all acts of terrorism that threaten the lives of citizens and disrupt peace.

The resolution, introduced by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, praised the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, FC, SSG, and law enforcement agencies for their dedication, bravery, and sacrifices in protecting citizens and maintaining Pakistan’s integrity.

It acknowledged the heroic efforts of the security forces in neutralizing the terrorists involved in the Jaffar Express attack, highlighting their determination to defend the nation at all costs.

The House reaffirmed its commitment to taking every possible step to eradicate terrorism across the country, stressing that no individual, group, or ideology that threatens the nation’s security, prosperity, or sovereignty will be allowed to spread fear, hatred, or violence within Pakistan’s borders.

The House also pledged to work tirelessly to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

It called on people from all ethnicities and religions to unite in the fight against terrorism and reject extremism, ensuring peace, safety, and prosperity for future generations.

During a discussion on the Presidential address to the Joint Sitting of Parliament, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that Pakistan will triumph in the war on terrorism with the nation’s full support for the armed forces.

He praised the security forces for successfully neutralizing the terrorists who attacked Jaffar Express in Balochistan, preventing the situation from escalating.

Khawaja Asif also criticized the PTI for targeting state institutions on social media.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan and paid tribute to the security forces for their efforts in protecting the passengers.

He denounced the terrorists, who he said have no ideology or religion, and accused them of being supported by foreign powers aiming to kill innocent people and hinder Pakistan’s progress.

He stressed the importance of unity among political parties to defeat terrorism once again.

He pointed out that President Asif Ali Zardari, in his address to the joint session of parliament, also called for unity and consensus to address the challenges.

In the discussion, Farooq Sattar suggested reviewing and strengthening the National Action Plan against terrorism.

Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh emphasized the need for unity to promote development and progress in Balochistan and the country as a whole.

Other participants in the debate included Pullain Baloch and Mehmood Khan Achakzai.

At the beginning of the session, the House observed a moment of silence for the security personnel and passengers martyred in the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express.
