Pakistan Literature Festival Returns to Sukkur in 2025 with a Bigger and More Vibrant Edition

Following the tremendous success of the Pakistan Literature Festival (PLF) 2023 – Sukkur Chapter at Sukkur IBA University, the festival is set to make a grand comeback on February 25-26, 2025. Organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University, this eagerly awaited event aims to further enrich Sindh’s literary and cultural landscape while promoting the region’s soft image.

The 2023 edition of PLF in Sukkur was a milestone event, drawing thousands of writers, poets, scholars, students, and families from across the province. Over the course of two days, the festival featured engaging panel discussions, poetry recitals (Mushaira), theatrical performances, and cultural showcases, celebrating Pakistan’s diverse literary heritage.

The enthusiastic participation of students, families, and educational institutions highlighted the region’s growing appreciation for literature and the arts, making the festival a symbol of intellectual and cultural vibrancy. This initiative, spearheaded by Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, reflects the university’s dedication to education, intellectual development, and co-curricular excellence. Dr. Asif extended his heartfelt gratitude to Mohammad Ahmed Shah (HI, SI), President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, for his invaluable support in organizing such prestigious literary and cultural events. Through these efforts, the university continues to play a vital role in elevating Sukkur’s cultural scene, nurturing young minds, and preserving the region’s rich artistic and intellectual heritage.

The overwhelming success of the previous PLF has positioned Sukkur as a significant hub for literary and cultural dialogue in Sindh. With an even more expansive and impactful edition planned for 2025, the festival aims to inspire and engage a new generation of writers, artists, and intellectuals.

Under the theme “Youth is the Only Way Forward,” PLF 2025 will serve as a dynamic platform for literary expression and cultural exchange. The event will bring together distinguished voices from Pakistan’s literary and media circles. Mohammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, has assured that PLF 2025 will unite people from all over the country to celebrate culture and empower the youth to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s future.
