Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 5 Terrorists, Including Leader Shafiullah Shafi, in Dera Ismail Khan Operation

In a recent intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Maddi region of Dera Ismail Khan, security forces neutralized five militants, including the leader, Shafiullah Shafi. According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was successful, with the troops targeting the militants’ position and killing them. Among those eliminated was the notorious ring leader, Shafiullah, also known as Shafi. The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition. The militants were responsible for assaults on security personnel and the targeted killings of civilians.

A follow-up operation to sanitize the area is currently underway to clear it of any remaining threats. The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to defeating terrorism within its borders.

Earlier, security forces carried out three additional IBOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the death of 19 militants. Tragically, three soldiers were martyred during these operations. In Matani, Peshawar District, eight militants were killed after troops engaged their position. In Baizai, Mohmand District, another eight militants were neutralized. A third operation in Karak District led to the killing of three terrorists.

During these engagements, three soldiers—Lance Havaldar Abbas Ali (38, from Ghizer), Naik Muhammad Nazir (37, from Skardu), and Naik Muhammad Usman (37, from Attock)—bravely sacrificed their lives. The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are unwavering in their determination to rid the country of terrorism and maintain peace.
