PM Shehbaz Directs Uninterrupted Gas Supply & Price Control Measures for Ramazan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken strong notice of public grievances regarding gas load shedding during Sehar and Iftar, instructing the relevant authorities to ensure a steady and uninterrupted supply during these crucial hours of Ramazan. Acknowledging the hardship faced by citizens, he emphasized that no household should suffer due to gas shortages, particularly during fasting hours.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the ongoing disruptions, the prime minister has demanded a comprehensive report from the petroleum division, seeking clarity on the reasons behind the issue and measures to resolve it. In response, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has pledged to maintain gas supply during Sehar and Iftar and has encouraged consumers facing low pressure or any related problems to report their concerns via their helpline at 1139 for prompt assistance.

Beyond addressing gas supply issues, PM Shehbaz has also directed federal and provincial governments to take concrete steps to ensure the availability of essential food commodities at reasonable prices throughout Ramazan. He stressed the importance of protecting citizens from inflation-driven hardships and urged authorities to implement effective price control mechanisms.

During a high-level meeting in Lahore focused on sugar supply and price stabilization, the prime minister called for a well-structured strategy to prevent artificial shortages and price manipulation. He further instructed law enforcement agencies to take decisive action against sugar hoarding and smuggling, citing the success of recent government operations in cracking down on illicit activities within the sugar market.

Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, PM Shehbaz underscored the need for strict monitoring and enforcement to prevent exploitation and ensure a smooth supply of essential goods throughout the holy month.
