President Asif Ali Convenes Senate Session to Address Key Legislative and National Issues

 

President Asif Ali has called a Senate session today (Thursday) at 11:30 AM at the Parliament House, Islamabad, under Article 54(1) of the Constitution of Pakistan.

As per a notification from the Senate Secretariat, the session will cover a 14-point agenda, focusing on significant legislative matters, question hours, and calling attention notices.

Among the legislative discussions, the Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Pakistan Coast Guards (Amendment) Bill, 2025, will be presented for approval. Additionally, the Special Technology Zones Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2025, is expected to be passed.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice will submit a report on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which seeks modifications to Article 106.

The session will also address urgent national concerns, including a calling attention notice regarding the targeted killing of passengers from Punjab in Balochistan and another highlighting the rising HIV cases across the country.

Senators are anticipated to engage in critical discussions, shaping policies and legislation on these pressing national matters.
