PTI Expels Senior Leader Sher Afzal Marwat on Imran Khan’s Directives

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has removed senior leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat from the party, following instructions from its founder, Imran Khan, sources confirmed on Monday.

According to party insiders, Imran Khan directed the PTI leadership to revoke Marwat’s basic membership due to concerns over his behavior at a political gathering in Swabi on February 8. A formal notification regarding his expulsion is expected soon, after which he will also be asked to vacate his parliamentary seat.

This decision comes in response to complaints from multiple party leaders about Marwat’s actions at the event, leading to an internal review and subsequent disciplinary measures.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali has denied having any knowledge of Marwat’s removal. Speaking to reporters, he mentioned that he had not received any official confirmation from Imran Khan regarding the matter.

“This is an internal party issue, and I have not been informed of any such decision,” Gohar stated. He reiterated his commitment to following the directives of the PTI founder and expressed disappointment over the failure of negotiations, suggesting that the government was never genuinely interested in dialogue.

Marwat’s expulsion represents a significant internal development for PTI as the party continues to navigate both internal conflicts and external political challenges.
