Security sources have firmly denied receiving any correspondence from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, dismissing recent media reports as baseless and misleading. They emphasized that no such letter has been received and labeled the claims as an attempt to create unnecessary controversy. According to security officials, there is no credibility to the allegations suggesting that Imran Khan reached out to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. They clarified that no communication has taken place and reiterated that the establishment remains indifferent to such claims.

Sources within the security establishment stated that PTI has once again attempted to stage a political drama by asserting that a letter was sent to the military leadership. However, they underscored that such efforts hold no significance and will not alter the establishment’s firm stance of non-interference in political affairs. Officials made it clear that even if such a letter had been sent, it would not be acknowledged, as the institution remains committed to its constitutional boundaries and refuses to be drawn into political matters.

The officials further stressed that the PTI leadership should seek dialogue with political stakeholders rather than trying to engage the military in political affairs. They reiterated that the army has consistently maintained its position of staying away from political negotiations, and any efforts to involve the institution in political discourse would be futile. The establishment’s role, they insisted, remains strictly within constitutional limits, and it does not participate in political settlements or negotiations.

This response comes in light of recent media reports claiming that Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated and is facing multiple convictions, had sought to establish communication with the army chief in an effort to initiate discussions with the establishment. These reports suggested that the PTI founder was looking for a political breakthrough amid his party’s ongoing struggles. However, security sources have categorically rejected these reports, reiterating that the military is not interested in engaging with PTI or facilitating any political talks.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan addressed the matter while speaking to journalists on Tuesday, stating that he had not seen or read any such letter from Imran Khan. He clarified that the PTI founder himself had publicly mentioned in the presence of the media that he had written to the army chief. Gohar stated that if a response were to be received from the military leadership, PTI would acknowledge it accordingly. However, he refrained from providing further details, leaving the matter open-ended. Despite these claims, security sources continue to insist that no such letter exists and that the establishment remains focused on its professional responsibilities rather than political maneuvering.
