Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has alleged that India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), orchestrated the recent assault on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Bolan district. On Tuesday, militants attacked the train en route from Quetta to Peshawar, taking over 400 passengers hostage.
The Pakistan Army’s two-day rescue operation concluded with all 33 Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants neutralized, and the hostages freed. Pannun urged international bodies to hold India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, and RAW accountable, warning of potential future attacks if left unchecked. He characterized the Narendra Modi-led government as a “full-fledged terrorist state” executing covert strategies against Pakistan.
Pannun’s accusations align with previous allegations against India for state-sponsored terrorism. In 2024, Canadian authorities implicated Indian diplomats in clandestine activities, including the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned these actions, asserting that India had made a “monumental mistake” by targeting Canadian citizens.
Additionally, India has faced accusations of supporting insurgent groups in neighboring countries. Pakistan has alleged that India’s RAW has been involved in terrorist activities across Pakistan, including espionage and sabotage operations.
These incidents highlight growing concerns over India’s alleged involvement in state-sponsored terrorism, prompting calls for international scrutiny and action.
